Maeve Clifford

CO-FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER

Maeve brings more than twenty years of blended nonprofit and executive search experience to her role as co-founder and managing partner of Pearl Street. She leads searches for our nonprofit and higher education clients, provides research-based guidance on a range of business issues from organizational design, leadership transitions and career pathing, and facilitates conversations that help clients understand their role in establishing a welcoming environment and sense of belonging for their teams.

At Pearl Street, Maeve elevates our workflows and systems to support transparency and excellence, implements marketing communications strategies, and oversees the team’s professional development. She personally created Pearl Street’s business intelligence and data analytics function, which has accelerated the firm’s time to generate a candidate pool by more than 30% and supports our above industry average success rate in placing candidates who represent diverse identities.

Maeve brings an orientation of continuous learning to her work, as well as an inquisitive nature and unmatched ability to transform data into strategic project information. A trained researcher with experience building and guiding research teams for both for-profit and nonprofit search firms, she was integral to the launch of two national search firms before establishing Pearl Street. Her nonprofit career includes functional roles at Harvard University, a charter school network, and a community nonprofit.

She served on the board of Girls Inc. of San Diego, volunteered with SquashBusters and Women of Color in Fundraising & Philanthropy (WOC), and is a member of the Allies in Action Membership Network. A Boston native, she lives outside San Diego with her husband and young son. Maeve holds a bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College.
